Speedweeks a Success for Safety Solutions

February 2010

Speedweeks 2010 was a huge success for Safety Solutions.  If the start of the racing season is a preview of what’s to come it’s going to be a knock out season for Safety Solutions Driver’s.

All Stars Circuit of Champions…..

Starting with the All Stars Circuit of Champions on January 28 at Ocala Raceway, the race was won by Danny Lasoski using Safety Solutions Seat Belts.  A close Runner up was 2009 All Stars Champion Tim Shaffer who wears Safety Solutions R3, Seat Belts, and Driver Nets Fred Rahmer came home fourth, Donny Schatz finished ninth after losing the nose wing on the start, Doug Esh was thirteenth with Greg Wilson coming home fourteenth.   Saturday’s All Star Circuit of Champions race was canceled on account of rain. 

Golden Isles Speedway….

All this while Scott Bloomquist picked up his first win of 2010 in dominating fashion at Golden Isles speedway in Safety Solutions Seat Belts.

Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models……….

Night number 1 saw Tim McCreadie finish 2nd with Eric Jacobsen finishing sixth, Don O’Neal seventh, Tim Isenberg came in fifteenth and Dan Schilieper coming in eighteenth.  Night Number 2 saw the 2009 Champion Scott Bloomquist start where he left off by taking the top honors on night number 2 in Safety Solutions Seat Belts.  Other Safety Solutions notables were Dan Schilieper finishing fourth, Tim Isenberg finishing seventh, Tim McCreadie finishing thirteenth, Eric Jacobsen finishing nineteenth and Don O’Neal finishing twentieth.  Night number 3 threw a bit of a hurdle at our drivers with Don O’Neal finishing fourth, Tim McCreadie tenth, Eric Jacobsen eleventh, Brady Smith fourteenth and Tim Isenberg fifteenth.  Night number 4 was much better as Scott Bloomquist finished in the runner up spot, Don O’Neal was fourth, Dan Schilieper came in fifth, Tim Isenberg twenty first and Eric Jacobsen finishing twenty sixth.  Night number 5 brought the rain and set up double features on night number 6.  The first feature saw a Safety Solutions 1-2-3 finish as Don O’Neal won with Dan Schilieper finishing second and Scott Bloomquist coming home third.  Eric Jacobsen finished fifteenth and Brady Smith finishing eighteenth.  It was Scott Bloomquist taking the victory in the second feature, with Eric Jacobsen finishing third, Brady Smith ninth, Tim McCreadie tenth, Dan Schilieper twelfth and Don O’Neal bring it up to fourteenth.  As the dust falls we see Safety Solutions drivers Scott Bloomquist leading the points with Driver Don O’Neal just 20 points back.  What a great week of racing!

All Stars Circuit of Champions………..

The All Stars Circuit of Champions next rolled into Volusia Raceway Park to kick off two nights of racing as a warm up for the World of Outlaws.  With the track very heavy we saw Donny Schatz finish third, with Lucas Wolfe finishing sixth, Fred Rahmer, Danny Lasoski and Tim Shaffer  finishing thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth and Doug Esh coming home in twenty third.

For the second night of the All Stars saw the track dry out and widen providing fans with some great racing.  Safety Solutions drivers were plagued with some problems while others were rewarded with great runs.  Lucas Wolfe finished fourth, with Danny Lasoski coming home in seventh.  Greg Wilson ran from eighteenth to thirteenth with Doug Esh blowing a tire to finish twenty first and Donny Schatz losing a front tire to finish twenty third.

ARCA……….

Safety Solutions driver’s out in full force.  Josh Richards had a great drive going until lap four when he was hit from behind and had to go behind the wall finishing forty second.  Danica Patrick had a great drive after a spin through the infield grass to finish sixth.  Darrell Basham over came handling issues to finish twenty second, Dakota Armstrong brought his Cunningham Dodge home thirty third,

World of Outlaws Sprint Cars………………

On the opening night for the World of Outlaws at Volusia brought a wide racy track.  Donny Schatz got his 101st Outlaws win.  Tim Shaffer finished fifth, Lucas Wolfe started 22nd to charge all the way to seventh, Danny Lasoski finished twelfth, Fred Rahmer was thirteenth, Doug Esh eighteenth, Terry McCarl wound up twenty second.  Night number 2 was washed out.  Night number three was some of the best action yet.  Safety Solutions Driver Danny Lasoski led the charge finishing third, Donny Schatz finished fourth, Terry McCarl was eighth, Tim Shaffer fifteenth, Lucas Wolfe nineteenth, and Doug Esh finishing twenty fifth.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series…………….

While rains fell on the Friday night Camping World truck Race at Daytona, It was postponed to after Saturday’s Nationwide race.  The Trucks were out to prove why they are some of the most exciting racing NASCAR has to offer.  Safety Solutions drivers put on one heck of a show.  Chad McCumbee finished thirty third after an ignition box failure, Rick Crawford wound up Twenty Eighth after his truck succumbed to an electrical gremlin, Mike Skinner ran up front most of the night until he was caught up in a wreck.  This left him finishing twenty fourth.  JJ Yeley brought home his new ride for a great top ten finish.

NASCAR Nationwide Series……………….

Earlier in the day during a caution packed Nationwide Series race left the Safety Solutions drivers with much success and dismay as many had to use it.  Carl Edwards lead the charge with a great Runner up finish, with Robert Richardson bringing up the tail in twenty fifth.  Twenty Ninth place finisher Dale Earnhardt Jr., saw what the track looked like upside down as he emerged out of his Safety Solutions seat belts unscathed.  Brendan Gaughan had a hard wreck, once again proving the Hybrid in NASCAR competition to finish Thirtieth.  IRL turned NASCAR star Danica Patrick was involved in a wreck during the early part of the race showing how well the Safety Solutions seat belts work.  All this lead us up to the start of the Daytona 500.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series………………..

What a great way to start the year off!  Jamie McMurray wins the 49th running of the Daytona 500 in Safety Solutions Seat Belts.  The car and belts will be on display in the Daytona 500 experience for an entire year.  This was followed by a great run for Carl Edwards who finished nineth, Juan Pablo Montoya who came in tenth and Robert Richardson in thirty first.  Proven winners…. Safety Solutions drivers.

World of Outlaws Dirt Late Models………………

With the track primed and ready, the drivers warmed up from the week before, the late model drivers swarmed into Volusia Speed Park with a furry ready to race.  On night number one it was the prodigy Brady Smith tearing through the field to finish third, Tim McCreadie running fourth, Eric Jacobsen finishing fifteenth, Chub Frank coming home eighteenth, Jared Landers twenty seventh and Shane Clanton trying not to let injury get the best of him bringing it home in twenty nineth.  Night number 2 was rained out and canceled.  Night number 3 saw the prodigy Brady Smith on top with a big win!  He held off a hard charging Tim McCreadie who finished second, Chub Frank brought it home in seventeenth, Jared Landers right behind him in eighteenth, Dan Shilieper in twenty sixth, and Shane Clanton in thirtieth.

NHRA……………….

With Speedweeks happening on the east coast the NHRA boys heated up the west coast by kicking off their season in Pomona.  In Pro Stock Safety Solutions Driver Greg Anderson Threw everything he had at it, coming in at the Runner up position.  In Nitro Funny Car it was a pair of Safety Solutions drivers.   John Force came out on top getting a great win over Ron Capps.  In Top Fuel Tony Schumacher lost on a Holeshot, ending the chances for Safety Solutions to be in victory lane in Top Fuel.
